THE LATEST INFORMATION ON ENTRY INTO THE PHILIPPINES AND RETURN TO JAPAN (UPDATED ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2023)

As of July 22, 2023, it is no longer necessary to submit a vaccination certificate when entering the Philippines.

This means that even if you haven’t been vaccinated, you do not need to provide a negative test certificate either.

Now, let’s provide the latest information regarding entry into the Philippines and returning to Japan as of September 4, 2023.

 

1. The Latest Information on Entry into the Philippines

 

【Entry Restrictions in the Philippines】
Non-Filipino citizens are allowed to enter the Philippines regardless of their vaccination status. However, they must be prepared to provide the three items outlined in the information provided below upon entry.”

Passport
  (with a validity of at least 6 months remaining)

A departure flight ticket from the Philippines within 30 days from the date of entry, or an onward ticket to another country.
(Must be purchased in advance, e-tickets are accepted. Exemptions apply to those with valid visas for an extended stay. Travelers planning to extend their tourist visa locally must still present a ticket showing departure from the Philippines within 30 days.)

A QR code issued upon completion of registration on the ‘eTravel’ online immigration management system.
What is eTravel?
eTravel is the Philippines’ online immigration management system. Registration (free of charge) is required online at least 72 hours before entering the Philippines. After registration, a QR code will be issued, which must be presented at the immigration counter upon entry.

※Effective July 22, 2023, the submission of a vaccination certificate is no longer required for entry into the Philippines. This means that even if you are unvaccinated, you do not need to provide a negative test certificate.

You may enter the country regardless of whether you have been vaccinated or not.
Please check the following information on what you need to prepare depending on the time of your return.

⇨No longer required to obtain PCR test and negative certificate prior to entry into Japan!
