CHERRY BLOSSOM FORECAST FOR 2024, THIS YEAR IS EXPECTED TO BE EARLIER THAN NORMAL

Weathernews has announced the “First Cherry Blossom Bloom Forecast.” It is predicted that cherry blossoms will bloom earlier than normal in many places in 2024. The top flowering spot is Fukuoka on March 16th, followed by Tokyo on the 17th.

The cherry blossoms are expected to start blooming in various parts of western and eastern Japan in late March, begin blooming in northern Tohoku in early April, and the cherry blossom front is expected to make landfall in Hokkaido in mid-April. The cold weather will not last long on the Pacific side of western and eastern Japan, and progress in breaking dormancy may be slow, so blooms are expected to be at normal levels.

Regarding the blooming of each famous place, Maizuru Park in Fukuoka Prefecture will start blooming on March 17th, Ueno Park in Tokyo will start blooming on March 18th, Kumamoto Castle in Kumamoto Prefecture will start blooming on March 23rd, and Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima Prefecture will start flowering on March 18th. On the 25th, Arashiyama in Kyoto is expected to open on March 27th, Hirosaki Park in Aomori Prefecture on April 15th, and Goryokaku Park in Hokkaido on April 17th.
