RECOMMENDED PLACES TO VISIT FOR ANTHOPILES (flower lovers)

We are approaching Golden Week, one of Japan’s most anticipated holidays, next to New Year’s. During this time, especially Japanese people will visit their parents or travel either domestic or abroad. Since most companies will be closed to celebrate, make sure to book everything in advance to avoid delays and hassles.

While cherry blossoms have faded in Tokyo by this time, there are still some areas where they are in bloom. If you missed hanami in Tokyo, consider visiting other recommended places to satisfy your anthopile heart.

1. AOMORI PREFECTURE – CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL

In late April to early May, Japan’s northern Tohoku Region bursts into full bloom with cherry blossoms. Among Aomori Prefecture’s top spots for viewing these blooms is Hirosaki Park. The park hosts the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival, offering food stalls with a variety of festival treats. Visitors can also enjoy rowing boats through a tunnel of stunning pink blooms.
