HAKONE TOWN RANKS 1ST IN THE “BUSINESS AND MARKETING CATEGORY” IN THE WORLD’S TOP 100 SUSTAINABLE TOURIST DESTINATIONS

The finalist screening for “Green Destinations Top 100 Stories 2023 (Top 100 Sustainable Tourist Destinations in the World in 2023)” conducted by the international tourism certification organization Green Destinations was held, and from Japan, Hakone Town in Kanagawa Prefecture was selected as the “Business Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture was ranked 3rd in the “Culture and Tradition” category.

“Green Destinations Top 100 Stories” selects 100 regions around the world that are committed to sustainable tourism each year.

Miyazu City also received high praise for its story about the techniques of wisteria weaving and the activities of the preservation society, with the theme of passing down the ancient technique of wisteria weaving.
