NAGOYA DAY TRIP ACTIVITIES – PART 2
The second day started with a heavy breakfast from the hotel.
After our heavy breakfast, we proceeded for our outfit change. For this day, we dressed up as the Tokugawa Family comprised of Ieyasu Tokugawa, Kame san, Haruhime and her husband Yoshinao Tokugawa. If you want to know the relevance of the Tokugawa family in Nagoya history, click this link.
This is our group picture with Nagoya castle as the background. We went inside of Honmaru palace and walked around the castle. There were people taking our pictures so it was fun even thought it was cold.
After this, we changed to our kimono and had our lunch of the day.
Washoku lunch was really good. Japanese high standards of presentation will never dissapoint. After our lunch, we headed to our tea ceremony. They explained to us how tea ceremony started in Japan and how you should your cup and the proper way to give back the bowl to the host. Since it was almost Christmas, the tea ceremony was christmas inspired.
Last part of the activity was a Koto performance. The teachers played us songs from Ghibli movies as well as some christmas songs.
Our teachers were kind enough to let us try playing the koto. It was definitely hard but they made it easy by puting numbers behind the string so we can follow the notes.
