The fire reportedly destroyed nearly 600 homes and affected 20,000 people.

As a result, there was heavy traffic jam on the road from Lapu-Lapu City to Cebu City yesterday.

The mayor of Lapu-Lapu City has canceled the planned Christmas party and announced that everything prepared will be donated to those affected by the fire.
